I want prediction most similar to MX series

I used the MX 500 510 and 518 for years for 1.6

I use a low sensitivity. 2 in game 400 dpi 125hz (default hz on those mice)

I stopped playing games for years, came back to CS GO with a DA 3.5G and something about it doesn't feel right. If I'm going to be shopping around for a new mouse, might as well try to bring back similar prediction that my muscle memory is used to.

Which mice would have the most similar prediction to the MX series?

I was told by a lot of people on ESEA to go with the G400 or G400s but they all also said it doesn't have prediction like the old MX series.

Thanks in advance!

Before you go looking for a new mouse, try turning on your DA's prediction.

That's not possible. DA3.5G was not released with alternative FW to do so.

Best bet is to find someone selling an old Mx5xx series used or sealed.

Alternatively, you can grab brand new mx310s on ebay for 15 USD. Only problem is shape is a radical change and is either love or hate. Mouse also has to be boosted over 200hz to allow more data flow. Otherwise, tracking speed is limited to 40ips or 1m/s. Mx500 has the same limitation.

There are places to buy new MX518s but they're overpriced ha. Also, it would be nice to have more accurate tracking (higher hz / accuracy) but still have similar prediction.

I was told some Steelseries also have prediction.

Any suggestions?

Yes I was told only the 3 has that option. the 3.5G does not.

If you use 400 DPI, why not just use a Microsoft 1.1a? If you actually like the mx518 shape, there is no way a G400 is going to perform worse than a MX518 for you also.

First gen mx518 @ 400 feels nicer compared to 2nd gen and G400s smile.gif

smile.gif well the mx series will have some prediction where as my understanding is the G400s will not. I might get a G400s and see how I like it and return it if I don't then look for a 518.

I was hoping that there would be newer technology that simply also has some correction to it. I heard some steelseries and some Zowie mice have correction but I'm getting conflicting information.
Does anybody know which do and which don't?

and what do you need a newer technology for? the sensor of the mx518 is still being used with slight variations. but coming from a long time mx518 user, if you had some good success you will most like recreate it by just using that mouse again. and its a good piece of quality anyway.
but yeah afaik the zowie EC non-evo has prediction.
