Well, the advantages of laptop is that it has powerful specs compare to ultrabook such as CPU and GPU. Laptop can be category as non-gaming and gaming one, so if you are into gaming then it is recommended to go with laptop with Intel CPU and dedicated GPU.
Laptop tend to be heavier, bulkyish, thicker and poor battery life than ultrabook.
Ultrabook is basically vice versa what I said what the laptop.
It's thin, light, portable, decent battery life, less powerful but it'll get the job done. It's best if you are mostly traveling back and forth and use for non-gaming stuff.
I don't know much about Intel Haswell's Laptop, so you are going to have to wait for someone to answer that. I pretty much answer most of your questions except the Haswell, sorry.
In my opinion, I would asked yourself this.
- What am I planning to do with this laptop or ultrabook?
