I can't use all 3 monitors

Thread Starter

So I'm setting up an eyefinity on my 7770 crossfire setup but I've run into a problem:

The three monitor setup works fine in this setup:

  1. Monitor: GPU DVI - DVI port
  2. Monitor: GPU MiniDP - DVI port
  3. Monitor: GPU MiniDP - VGA port

The setup works just fine with 3 monitors, but if I do this:

  1. Monitor: GPU DVI -DVI port
  2. Monitor: GPU MiniDP - DVI port
  3. Monitor: GPU MiniDP - DVI port (same adapter like the 2nd monitor is hooked up to)

the 7770 does only allows two monitors at a time to get activated, it doesn't matter which ones. It automatically deactivates one if I activate another. I have never heard of something like this and don't understand why it it's happening, anybody have an idea?

On AMD you need an active display connector to run 3+ monitors, buy an active miniDP -> dvi adapter and you'll be golden thumb.gif

Oh thanks! I didn't know miniDP carries DVI signal too. In that case I'm off buying one.

Because VGA gives me screen tearing on one screen and the converter isn't mine.
