[TechPU] Corsair Carbide Air 540D Makes Both Side Panels Equally Important - Page 15

i just wish the corsair one is a little thinner. they could have shaved an inch off each compartment. 2 inches might not be alot but it would appear less boxy.

looking at it again, not a huge fan of the front bezel with those strips, but hey. just 2cents.gif

Wondering if Gorge could maybe clarify, while they at Corsair decided not to make case “convertible,” how hard would be to remove the case feet and place them on the PSU side, then flipped it would be like HAF XB just bigger and likely better, I would like to use motherboard mounted horizontally.

Thanks
Misha

The feet are not easily re-located. They use a tab on one side and a screw on the other. There are no provisions on the side panel to mount these. However, you can take the feet off of the bottom and place the chassis on its side panel. There is still a gap between the PSU intake location and the side panel so you would not be closing it off completely. The main issue I see with this is that the bottom stamped panel on the chassis is not pretty to look at, but that may or may not bother you.

Thanks for the clarification, “SpDFreaK,” I newer owned Corsair Case, so I guess you are speaking from your experience how they mount feet’s on their Cases; As long as the one that comes with the Case are removable I am fine with that, one could easily find on the Web het Hi-Fi feet’s and rise the side of the Case where the PSU is to get extra clearance and air flow.

There are some cool looking Feet out there:

Does anyone know what the fan spacing is for the 140mm mounts? Does it support both 15mm and 20mm?

He's the engineer who did the mechanical design and layout. You can thank him for finding a way to fit the 360 up front and a lot of other cool stuff.
