I have no knowledge about this topic but can anyone make TLDR about what this is?

Dude claims to invent a new type of nuclear fusion device for making power. Possibly legitimate. Controversy ensues.

Rossi claims he has been able to fuse nickel and hydrogen to produce copper + heat and that it puts out more energy than it uses. Unfortunately, even this "independent" test is not the slightest bit independent among the other technical issues. Check the link in dealio's post for more details.

.

I read the articles and in the first 3 they sell some assets for at least 7 billion and in one of the first 3 it states BP plans/or has already sold 30 billion at least since 2010. The last article BP actually spent 28 billion in a stock and cash deal the Russian owned Rosneft.

http://www.nasdaq.com/article/conocophillips-to-sell-5-bln-stake-off-kazakhstan-to-incur-400-mln-q4-charge-20121126-00448

This one goes to just their news section randomly. . wth.gif

Some reasons the companies are selling: Seems companies are just wanting to do exploratory research and production rather than refining in countries that have surplus and hurt profit.

Also it seems Exxon wanted to sell off its stake in the Iraqi gov. owned/backed while taking a more lucrative deal with the Kurd's. The Kurd's say it's their right to use their resources however they please while the Iraqi gov. says its illegal.

http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/536428

This one the company sells but then reinvests the money for 1.7 million acres plus upgraded stuff.

So all in all why they are selling makes sense without the conspiracy. Do it take away from it? IMHO it doesn't that much. They are maximizing profits/selling to make money like all businesses but at the same time should be diversifying.

Would they all do this b/c of fusion since it would be the only power source that mattered? I am not sure.

Also still wanting to see more independent tests but am still encouraged by these results so far.

Will be editing. Did not mean to hit enter. redface.gif

Yea I gotta check out of this thread my paranoia/conspiracy theory trigger is going full-auto.

Best of luck.

for the love of jebus please dont be a scam, cold fusion e-cat

If it 's the same test, then yes, they used clamped on meters, and there are known ways to fool them.  The part about a "proprietary waveform" being used to power the thing is a big scam alert.  If it really works, it's pretty simple to hand the machine and an instruction book to some research institute and then walk away.  Why control the test yourself if you are trying to convince people?

Well as I said before the mass-defect is a proven theory it is based up the fact that any mass can be converted into energy.
His theory is correct as nickel and copper are both low cores therefor input energy if 100% efficient would render more energy in the form of heat but that is not how it works in the real world.
You can't power just a single collision at a time most of the power you put in will actually bleed out and we have a hard time using the lightest cores to hit each other with a positive energy production.
The lighter the core you use for fusion the littler you have to put in and the more you can harvest/collision.
To explain this to get the fusion products you need a gigantically high temperature and or pressure to make single H-1(normal hydrogen) into H-2(Deuterium isotope) or H-3(Tritium isotope) this happens by itself once we get the heat up to 10 million Kelvin or so.
But that is only part of the reaction once the isotopes are created we still need to have our atom fusion which will result in energy profit.
H-2 + H-3 -> Alfa particle(Radio active helium) + 17.6MeV(the energy that was created out of the "disappeared mass"
For all those with a little knowledge about it it can be seen as 2 + 3 = 4 + 1 Albert Einstein backed this theory and it has proven itself many times.

If this proves to be real, this is way ahead of what we expect right now. But I hope it's true.
