nVidia Conteol Panel - System Information vs Perfomance tab

Thread Starter
I just installed a brand new Gigabyte GV-N66TOC-3GD card which is rated at

Core Clock: Base / Boost clock:1032 / 1111 MHz

After install I went into the nVidia Control Panel to verify my new card and the GPU speed. and when I click Performance -> View System Information.. and select GPU "GeForce GTX660 Ti" it only shows the following:

GPU Graphics Clock: 705.000 MHz

However, when I go into Control Panel and then on the lower-left, there's a tab called "System Information" and when I click that it says:

Graphics Clock: 1032 MHz

Why the difference? I just want to make sure my new card is running at the 1032 it's rated for.

GPU power states in play.

If you want absolute confirmation of gpu core and memory speeds, download GPUz. Open up the application and read the clock speeds. They will increase to full settings for a bit first time you open the program.

If not, keep GPUz running and open a 3D benchmark program or game and confirm that your clock speeds increase from idle to the boost clock speed.

Thanks, I opened up GPUz and it does in fact show the correct clocks @ 1033 MHz, and the boost is set to 1111 MHz thumb.gif
