Quantum Interaction

The Story

I recently bought a boutique computer (OriginPC). I just didn't want to take the time to research and build it myself and these days I don't have a ton of time and have more money than I do time. Specs are below. Out of the box it 3DMark scored at just under 16k.

Case: Corsair 800D
Case Exterior: Laser Etching - Neurons
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme (SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 4-WaySLI capable)
Processors: Overclocked Intel Core i7 3930K 4.5GHz - 5.2GHz LGA 2011 Hex-Core Processor (12MB L3 Cache)
Power Supply: 1050 Watt Corsair HX1050
Graphic Cards: Dual Liquid Cooled 6GB EVGA GTX TITANS
Memory: 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866Mhz (4x8GB)
Operating System: Genuine MS Windows 8 Professional 64-Bit Edition
RAID Configuration: RAID 5 : For performance and fault tolerance
RAID Controllers: LSI MegaRaid 9260-4i RAID Controller
Hard Drive One: 512GB Samsung 840 Pro Series
Hard Drive Two: 512GB Samsung 840 Pro Series
Hard Drive Three: 512GB Samsung 840 Pro Series
Media Card Reader: 40-in-1 Media Card Reader
Bay Devices: Lamptron Fan Controller FC3-A Limited Edition

All the liquid cooling was done with Koolance items and it has kept pretty nice temps through out me adding stuff.

Well After I got the PC. It was amazingly fast but I started to want more and more. So I started to think, what could I do to make this PC faster. So after only 4 weeks of having the computer and loving every bit. I ordered a few things.

1 X Intel i7-3970x Processor (had to RMA first one since would only overclock to 4.2. New one got to 5ghz in testing.)
1 x Corsair AX1200i Power Supply
1 x 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400mhz (Was only able to get to 2133 in testing)
1 x OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 (960Gb) (Later figured out that 4 RAID0 Samsung Drive benchmark faster in ATTO)
1 x Samsung 840 Pro 512GB (To complete the RAID10 with the 3 840's already in the system)
1 x EVGA 6GB Titan with matching EK Water Block
3 x Benq XL2720T Monitors (120hz)
Lots of Single Braided White Cables

Faster yes, but far from complete. 3D Mark Score just 26,762 before the addition of the 3970x. Here is a link to some pictures.

Now I got the speed but I wanted something to look and feel like it was my own since I have already spent a small fortune. So what is another few bucks to make this mine!

So I bought a few more things

1 x Used Origin Big O Case which was the Danger Den Tower 29 Double Wide in Black with the Origin BIG O on the front and I wanted to hang on to a little bit of the the company that started this monster.
3 x Black Ice SR1 (480 Radiators)
1 x Black Ice SR1 (360 Radiator)
1 x EK RIVE NIckel Chipset Block
1 x EK Nickel CPU Block
1 x Indigo Extreme CPU Thermal Compound
16 x ModMyToys White with Black Carbon Fiber wrapped Compression Fittings.
1 x FrozenQ Liquid Fusion Dual Bay Reservoir with White Helix
4 x Primochill Radiator Fan Grills in White
3 x EK Titan Backplates
1 x LG Blu-Ray Drive

I also bought a Koolance ERM-3K3UC external cooling system. Not sure if I am going to use it in this build or am I going to use it in another but I want this so over the top its not ever funny. External Cooling Unit

I know some will ask why I spent the money on the parts only to replace them. Well it's not about money for me. I have worked 18 year in the IT industry to get where I am today so I have the money and I only do this once ever few years so I go big or go home.

I will post photos as I start building the box.

The Triple Titans

The Rads and Compression fittings

Ok I threw in a picture of my chocolcate lab (Gus) He sits by my side and watches me build all the time.

Ok here are some more pictures. Today I did the following.

Added the last 90 degree connectors
Added the last of the white tubing
Added 3 of the EK Titan Back plates to the Titans. I think it looks much cleaner that way.

Tomorrow I am heading to the Nuts and Bolts store because I need some M4 -.07 35mm and some 8mm low cap hex heads so I can add the Primochill Grills to the Rads and Fans. Here is a picture of the grills.

Then I will start getting all of the power cables ready to go. Tomorrow I will also start revealing the case.
