I have 2 660 Ti installed, but only recently got my 2nd vcard. When I built this pc I have my old mobo, cpu, and ram to my nephew. (Q8300, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 8gb DDR2 800) He bought a Sapphire HD 6850 and later a second. He plays everything I do, on lower setting of course, but there is a huge difference. Don't get a 660, the 660 Ti is a GTX 670 with a narrower memory bandwidth. Everything is exactly the same. They are very nice cards. Get the one with the best cooling or the one for the best price. Depending on what you can afford. The only difference between any of them is bios and clock. You can look in my profile the 660 ti rig is in my signature. To look at his HD 6850 rig it is called "Area 51". I hope this helps or if you have any other questions I could help with man, feel free to ask.

Haha anyway OP I agree that a 660ti is a good choice, but I still think a 7870xt is better bang for the buck.

Please read that again. I said I doubt the 8800 would play skyrim at all. I am playing allot of games now that the 8800 probably wouldn't play. The point is that I have the same issues with performance. or had. But I was playing most everything on ultra with the 8800. And no, the 660 tis performance was not what I dremt it would be. I want everything to be on max settings, or I'm not happy. It wasn't until I enabled SLI that it became effortless.

You are right. AMD has always had better performance for the money. If money is an issue, then get the AMD, but I would rather wait longer and have an Nvidia.

OMG you are comparing DX9 / DX10 and DX11.. of course DX11 WILL EAT much more performance!
Besides i upgraded from a gtx 285 to gtx580 3gb to 660ti 2gb and EVERY time there was a difference.
You must have missed something like different settings or something else. Benchmarks do not lie..

Just forget it. I am comparing the gamability of videocards. benchmarks mean nothing in this matter.

There is a little bit of a performance difference in the 2, but not enough to justify spending that much cash. Or I don't think so. Compairison can be seen here -> http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-670-vs--9223372036849443853

The 660 Ti used all of the exact same components as the 670. The ONLY difference is the memory bandwidth.

If you're sepnding that much you may as well spend ~360 to get a 7970. Far superior to a 670.
