IMHO AMD is more fun to play with...I don't run them oc'd all the time because I'm not a gamer and they are powerful enough (AMD 1100t, AMD 965 BE, Intel 2500k). I am definitely not your average OCN member, either. I totally cheated and used the guides here and it took no time to find good, stable setups. As stated in an above post, you will get bored with whatever oc you do. Only your budget and your imagination will keep it interesting.

Agreed completely. Get whatever you think will suit your needs no matter what anyone else says about it. Whether its an i3, fx6300, or an i7 extreme, it's your pc: your choice. And I also agree that OCing your chip gets old quick. Once you get it stable as high as you can it is pretty much over :/

But yeah get what sounds appealing to you! A mid-high end chip from either company should provide some good OCing fun as well as the performance that you need smile.gif

Haha! That is really funny because until I get a good grip on oc'ing I think I'm going to have that itch a lot. I'm not a big gamer really, but I love messing with things so I think for the next chip I buy, it'll be something that I can really move around and mess with. I ended up buying a 3570k and a z77 extreme 9 so I can overclock with intel. I was going to get an AMD but the deal fell through so I picked intel. I know it's a side grade from what I have now, but I wanted to overclock with Intel first anyways since it seems a bit more safe and easy to do. Then I'll move into ocing the shiz out of future chips. I look forward to the thrill. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info guys. Arguments are great for discovering TRUTH, after you scrape away the ****.
