Love both of em, but on the Impact...that SATA placement is gawd awful...do they expect you to buy a RADR card and leave it up to that and mSATA/PCIe SSDs? Really not a good design choice.
You'll find most ITX boards have their SATA ports there. It sucks, but it's rare to find worthwhile boards with edge-mounted SATA. I still contend it's perfectly possible for the ROG board to do it for at least two ports by moving the physical power button to the rear IO, which would make sense anyway since that's where the rest of the hardware buttons are.

Finally. Someone smart enough to include G1/4 ports. This will be a popular board.

Might be able to sneak one past the wife. Maybe. Sucks that I would have to buy a new chip too, but I guess that's part of the upgrade game. Can't give up my short 670 pcb though. Not upgrading till they come up with a short pcb on a graphics card again.

Yeah, looks so far like the 670 was just special.

Using the ROG ITX board as a reference, ditch the sound card, move the hard power button to the back IO and put a pair of SATA 3 ports there, turn the remaining SATA ports 90 degrees and line them along the DIMM slots tucked up against the CPU cooler boundary, go minimal on the southbridge heatsink (no idea how big or small the 'stuff' under those heatsinks are) and shift it further up and you might just have enough space for another x16 slot. Would block off the behind-DIMM SATA ports, would require low-profile RAM.

I'm going to sleep now. We'll see if this still sounds like a 'good idea' when I wake up. biggrin.gif
Oh I'm sure they could do it.
But what do you think would it do to the market for their M-ATX boards?

WAIT
IMAGINE A MINI-DTX/MINI-ITXWITHTWOPCIE WITH TWO WATERCOOLED 7990S-
THE 7990 DOESN'T HAVE ANY PORTS IN THE TOP SLOT HOLY CRAP

QUADFIRE ON ITX HOLY CRAP (THAT'S RIGHT I JUST INVALIDATED YOUR 6 FOOT TALL TOWER (NO, NOT REALLY))

SOMEONE CONTACT SOME MOTHERBOARD MANUFACTURER TO MAKE AN ITX WITH TWO PCIEX16 THIS HAS TO HAPPEN OMG
