[VARIOUS] Asus ROG Mini-ITX Maximus VI Impact, and Maximus VI formula - Page 7

Using the ROG ITX board as a reference, ditch the sound card, move the hard power button to the back IO and put a pair of SATA 3 ports there, turn the remaining SATA ports 90 degrees and line them along the DIMM slots tucked up against the CPU cooler boundary, go minimal on the southbridge heatsink (no idea how big or small the 'stuff' under those heatsinks are) and shift it further up and you might just have enough space for another x16 slot. Would block off the behind-DIMM SATA ports, would require low-profile RAM.

I'm going to sleep now. We'll see if this still sounds like a 'good idea' when I wake up. biggrin.gif

Oh I'm sure they could do it.
But what do you think would it do to the market for their M-ATX boards?

Looks like Asus has really cracked adding vertical PCB's to the board, they've got 3 of them now!

Glad that they've added some better audio, probably the only thing wrong with the P8Z77-I deluxe, the board that I just bought tongue.gif

ITX is just getting better and better, and should be epic by the time I come round to upgrading my CPU again - not for a while though!

O wow that board is amazing, I wish they would have made one with the 1155 socket as well, I bet it would have sold like hot cakes

best part about it is we will probably start seeing competition for it, at least I hope.

Hmm. It still has terrible SATA placement and, just because of that, I don't want it. I just want a black board with a little bit of blue on it that has SATA ports right on the edge of the board.

tempted to switch to haswell coz of this. biggrin.gif
those audio enhancement stuff just made the awesomeness level of this to more than 9000
