Thx That was the plan just pushing the stock to the limit first

No, why do that?

Just buy the cooler already biggrin.gif

looks like you got a nice chip.

listen to the man.

Don't wait, grab a cooler and find out if that bad boy is golden-ish. Even a cheapo antec 620 would suffice until you can afford better. It does nicely for me.

You just don't want to get overzealous and end up ruining your new chip. Its not likely you would as it would just throttle, but still. better safe than sorry.

If you're planning to get a H60, it'd be better value (cooling/cost) to get a good air cooler (something like the D-14, U14S, Havik 140, etc). From what I've read, Kuhler Box is pretty average and somewhat loud.

If you're still getting the H100i, I would just wait till it's available. I won't be surprised if you manage ~4.8Ghz with a good cooler. thumb.gif

This is what I've posted a while ago on the ivy stable club topic:

Hey, here is the formula for the lineair weighted equation. Weighting based on testing time, with the weight of indepentent results being time/avg testing time (16.3hr at moment of writing)
Code:
Vcore=0,28153*freq-17,50661

(Frequency in MHz)

Based Weighted Least Squares using Macrobundle, http://www.bowdoin.edu/~rdelevie/excellaneous/#downloads, the WSL1 macro.
Code:
Coeff: -17,50661206 0,281534063
StDev: 167,3160494 0,03659375
Sf: 55,62867207
CM: 27994,66038 -6,118960445
        -6,118960445 0,001339103

More info on weighted results and the macro's can be fount in this excel document:
http://dahorner.faculty.noctrl.edu/Excel/weighted_least_squares_example.xls
Please just use this as reference and estimates...

Also this equation is linear, and I doubt the voltages actually square linear. So I'll repeat myself and just take these numbers as guidelines or reference to rate your CPU.

Unweighted plot and trendline:

Post in some other topic 6 months ago:
Just recently got my 3570 and got it stable at 4.220 (42x100.5 bclk) and fixed 1.1vcore, LLC has been set so it stays at around 1.105 vcore under load. It's 16hr prime stable max temps of around 70-75°c on stock cooler.

Going to tweak bios settings it a little to get it stable at 4.3 with the same voltage.
Planning on getting a new aircooler and then just bump the voltage a little more, and see how far I can take it. Trying to keep it under 70°C load though.
