Wireless N router suggestions for an apartment?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, need to buy a router for a small 2 bedroom apartment. Was wondering what good wireless N routers are.
Not exactly sure what the good models are, so was asking for suggestions at what to look for here.
I just want the most solid possible router out there. Something I don't have to mess with a lot to get working properly, and one that I don't need to worry about connection issues and rebooting. Basically, it needs to be rock solid.

Thanks.

I've got a Cisco EA3500 and it terrific.

But i'll recommend the ASUS' RT-N66U "Dark Knight" router. Its known for its ridiculously high routing speed!

Check http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/ for more stuff.

I was looking at the Asus RT-N66U, but I'm wondering if it is worth the price tag on it.
I can get the previous RT-n56U for around $100. For a small apartment do I need anything more than that?

I just finished setting up my new Dark Knight and It's leaps and bounds better than my WNDR3700v2. I usually go through a WNDR3700 each year. I was getting sick of replacing them, but Best Buy kept letting me take them back and get a new one so I didn't complain biggrin.gif The range is excellent on the 2.4 band. I haven't tested the 5ghz band yet, but so far so good. I'd recommend this router for sure!

the 56U will do you a great job, no need to folk out the extra for the 66U.

For a small apartment if you're just going to browse the net then any cheaper router will do the job.

Well, I do play a lot of games, and download things all the time, so I don't just browse the net tongue.gif
