660 Ti Artifacting while playing BF3

Hello fellow OCN people!! I was playing BF3 just now then i got some weird artifacting. (uploading video to youtube now, taking forever) I continued to record for a while, hoping that it would go away. BUT NO it didn't. frown.gif

All the colors were messed up, pixels were really weird, flappy things all over the place. So I stopped playing and took a look around inside my case. I have the Asus Direct CUII version of the card so there are 2 fans. And I noticed that one of the fans was not spinning right. It spun for like a second then it stopped again, then it just repeated over and over again.(i'll have a video up asap)

So I figured, "RMA TIME"!! Looked at my gpu observer widget and it confirmed that the card was HOTTT!! At least 20 degrees Celsius more than normal, at idle. The widget said the fans were spinning at 30rpm, then 0 again. Looked around the interwebs for some miracle solution, hoping someone had had this problem before and managed to fix it.

*poof* It fixed itself, fan was back up to 1080rpm and card was down to 33 degrees.

Should I keep using it until is really dosent work? Or should i RMA it now?

Btw, my mobo is not SLI capable, so I had to do the HyperSLI Hack. Could this be messing with the fan? Thanks in advance smile.gif

So is it still artifacting?
Have you tried reinstalling drivers?

If you're on the latest drivers there's a lot of complaining that there are artifact issues with BF3

Yup! I'm using the latest drivers. I figured the artifacting was due to an overheat. I'll keep a close eye on it under load and see how it goes.
