Computer/ power supply clicks once during shutdown-URGENT

So I upgraded to a Rosewill Capstone 450W yesterday. It works fine, computer started up normally and it was on continuously for eight hours until I decided to shut down the computer. It shut down, but right after the screen went to sleep and the case fan LEDs turned off, the power supply made a "click" sound much like a switch being flipped.
Is this normal, and if it is, what is it from?
If not, should I RMA It?

How old is the thing?

I have had atleast 3 power supplies that do this. I assume its just the power being cut off suddenly I wouldnt worry too much about it. Never seemed to cause any issues with the power supplies I had. Only recommendation is to check your hard drive is securily plugged in and that the clicking isnt coming from there. Otherwise I think this is a common issue and the hard drive clicking is usually more then one click not just the solid click of shutdown (which is what i think yours is). Again I dont really know what causes it but it seems to be common

It's just one click.

I am not a pro when it comes to power supplies. Just know from experience a single click is fairly common. I would recommend sticking your ear to your power supply then shutting it down. if its coming from the hard drive its possible theres some under-lying issue there (use spinrite to attempt fix if it is messed up). Otherwise if its just the psu I wouldnt imagine there being much of a problem. You could try using a multimeter to check all of your rails for consistancy. I suppose its hard saying without hearing it.

maybe its time for that good ol saying, If it aint broken dont fix it tongue.gif

I'm sure, I unplugged the HDD and turned it on, I'm lead to believe it's a relay switch because it also clicks once when I plug it in.

Have the same exact power supply and so far it seems to be completely normal. Been running it daily since the day I built it (late January/February) with no problems thumb.gif
