Big problem. Vcore wont increase. Asrock Z87 Extreme 3

Thread Starter
Hi everyone i've just bought a 4770K with Asrock Z87 extreme 3 m/b but ive got a BIG problem.
When i go to overclock the 4770K the vcore will not increase at all. It's stuck at around 0.9V. This is causing me to crash in prime95 at 4Ghz or so. I was thinking the PSU might be the problem since its an older corsair HX650 bronze so i disabled the C states.

Ive tried everything i can think of and even the motherboard's own pre-overclocked setting things are restricted since the voltage only stays between 0.89 and 0.91V.

Any help would be much appreciated.

you should be able to set vcore without offset or with it, try updating your BIOS.

Slightly old thread, but I wanted to chime in to say that if you were reading your vcore with CPU-Z, you need to use version 1.64.1 (NOT 1.64). Otherwise, CPU-Z is displaying the C7 voltage (.880 or something like that). I was scratching my head over this too and decided to see if CPU-Z was culprit.

Link to the proper version: http://www.ocaholic.ch/uploads/CPUZ/cpu-z_1.64.1.zip

Hopefully that's the only issue.

Not sure about the voltage issues in your bios as I'm using a different mobo (Mpower).
