I remember the triple combo of 6850s, which was made possible by CFing a unique 6850X2 card with a standard 6850 card.

According to Tom's Hardware benchmarks, the triple combo beaten the GTX 590, dual 580s, Radeon 6990, and dual 6970s in almost every single category except for noise level and power efficiency.

The triple combo was also more cost efficient than the other dual GPU setups, and had no micro stutter.

A shame that none of the manufacturers are interested in building a 7850X2 card.

I wonder how hot this card would get given it is cooled by a single slot cooler.

how the hell did the pull off 75W on a pitcairn ??
this card pulls like 130W with reference clock ...

Underclock/undervolt?

Slot that provides more than 75w of power? Some boards have supplemental power for the pci-e slots.

don't you think this kind of defeats the purpose of not having pci-e power ?
afterall not all boards have that..

My guess is that they binned the gpus and undervolted/underclocked them. But shaving off 55W is still quite an accomplishment to say the least..

Stuff like this is great. Imagine in ten years a GPU may exist like this but as powerful as today's Titan for a measly $150. It's bogus that we can't get this card from regular online retailers though.
