i7 930@4ghz, high temps?

Thread Starter
OC noob here,
I'm idling at around 35-45 (Was this temp before OC) and getting around 88 max on prime95 (around 10-20 mins).

Is this too high? Should i clock to a lower frequency?

88C is fine with prime as you'll never see those kind of temps while gaming. What cooler?

Temps look fine, both idle and load. Room temps make a difference too so if it was a hot/cool day, they can skew the numbers a bit.

I have the same CPU as you, also at 4Ghz, my idle is around 38c and about 62-65c at load. Different cooler and case but you get the idea.

And as long as your temps are fine during gaming, you're good. As mentioned, it's a stress test and you won't see those temps daily.
