Best I can do I suppose, 4.6ghz. At least I got my ram to run at 2400mhz with no issues thus far. I ran AIDA 64 for 1 hour and topped out at 87c at my hottest core. After two hours of Black Ops 2, my highest core hit only 70c. I'm pretty happy with the results, I might not delid after all.

Alright....I just stepped away for a smoke and my computer BSOD, now I'm pretty sure something else is up. Something must've caused it cause I stress tested the hell out of this setup. hmm....could it be some kind of sleep state or something?

Hows the audio on this board?
Audio is great, although I'm still getting used to everything, it's pushing my Sennheiser 595s just fine.

That is good to hear, I currently have a asus xonar dg with Audio-Technica ATH-M50's and am very happy with the sound.
Since microatx z87 don't have pci I either need to be happy with the onboard sound or get an add on card.

That is really good to hear!

I posted this board on HeadFi.org and I got one person arguing strongly that these will be perfect for HD 598s and another Strongly opposing it saying the audio amp is for >600OHM headphones only.

My HD 598s should get here soon. :D

are there >600ohm headphones? lol. Do the guys over there know which amps are being used? Considering the amp is in the majority of after market products and its the reason GBT used it here. You can test the difference for yourself its very simple. The jack above the S/PDIF on the TOSLINK is either driven by the DRV632 or no AMP at all, the one to its right is the OP-AMP socket AMP, the one below that is either DRV632 or no AMP so you can actually try the difference between all 3. The DRV632 is also good for up to 600ohm. Watch the volume when you change the jacks though as in the OP-AMP jack the output volume is much higher than in the other jacks because GBT put in hardware to provide over 12v to the OP-AMP socket.

the AMP is OPA2134 in the socket, i would think around 80ohm headphones would be fine.

I would also use RealTemp instead of coretemp.

BTW HD598s are pretty damn nice!

Audio on this board is good from the rear port but, the second I plug it into a front audio port (the cables to the front ports are not shielded) I get like a 1500hz tone with 1hz oscillation, with a lot of noise. Unfortunately the only way I see the ability to trigger the headphone amp is to go through the front audio port.

The annoying green audio LED trace can be shut off under "Audio LED" in the bios.

Also, mine came shipped with BIOS version F3. I saw there's a F5 out now, which when I installed it fixed a bunch of stability problems not being able to get over 4.2Ghz stable, fixed CPU temperature in the BIOS (was reading WAY too high). Classic BIOS aren't nearly as buggy as the Windows mode BIOS. I also noticed the CPU support list says all Haswell CPU's were only supported since version F5. Version F3 is more than a month older than F5. It comes shipped with F3.

If you're having any stability problems, I suggest upgrading to F5.

I'm interested in getting this board, or the UD5H, but I'm just holding out to hear what more have to say for those who are having issues, Naviblue have you tried upgrading the bios to F5 suggested by kaihau ?

Finger itching to click purchase on either, but leaning more to sniper because of the color and i believe the 16x/16x that the GA-z87x-UD5H does not have i think.
