Yup, pretty much what I said thumb.gif.

Could be a driver issue w/ 290X. You may want to submit a ticket w/ amd to at least notify them. Don't know what to tell you this point because its really up to you. I like to play around w/ the SB cp but only when I'm jamming w/ music. Games, I leave the default settings (mainly for my headphones). I would just wait for amd to get a fix or for Creative's to send an update. I rather have a new gpu then control of audio settings for now imho.

Yesterday I update latest drivers from official website and one of them was USB 3 + INF drivers as well.
I had a major issue now - after update when I plug my Joystick (Saitek X52 Pro) other devices on all USB ports stop working and system become slow (cent even restart properly - shows on screen restarting and thats it). It looks like it gets power to joystick and in gaming control panel joisticks works but LCD screen light dont come up and when you try to change some setting in joystick control panel its freez.
When I do hard restart and try without pluging my joystick - everything works out smooth - USB works for mouse, keyboard no problem. Than I try another gaming keyobard like G15 - works no problem. Try to put my SAITEK again - the same problem...system lag and other USB devices wont work. try to reinstal latest USB drivers and nothing helps. Try to reinstall Saitek drivers - wont let me do it because you need to plug in device - and system stucks.
I was thinking there is some issue with joystick, but I try to contect to another pc and it works no problem.
So issue for sure drivers (because ahppend right after new drivers installing - sucks.)

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Norm

Try using the usb drivers from the disc (or download the previous working version for you). If the problem stops, it could be the updated driver is conflicting w/ your gear. Also, check if your peripherals have any updates as well.

.

In my experience, igpu enabled w/ a discrete card (ie stand-alone gpu) will have issues. I've had issues where it affects boot up and resuming from sleep/hibernation. Bottom line, if you have a better graphics card, shut off the onboard for less hardware to become an issue. Btw, I went as far as disabling the intel igpu from the device manager too.

I was thinking along those lines too, so I have set up the control panel the way I want it for headphones/Cubase and plugged my amp into the monitor. When I want to switch I'll swap drivers over to AMD's or creative. That will work for now and I will submit a ticket to AMD, Creative and Gigabyte to let them know.
Thanks wormed: thumb.gif

Hi all!

Just ordered the Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5, did not plan to upgrade yet, but the deal was to good to pass up. Gigabyte Nordic is having a 30% cashback campaign so the total was only 250$.

My plan was to finally skip my soundcard and move my OP-Amp (OPA637 With adapter) to the motherboard instead. But i see it's not on the official list, and my Google-Fu has yet to find anyone who has tried it on the board.

Anyone who has a clue if it will work? Because i don't plan to just plug it in and see what happens... smile.gif

Have you tried disabling AMD audio in audio devices?

Hey guys,

I've posted here before about having trouble with the onboard audio not working a lot of times after working fine for a couple of weeks. I got the error that windows couldnt detect any headphones or speakers and the device just wouldn't show up in device manager or in the sound manager and not on GNU+Linux either.

I tried to update the BIOS to the latest version found on the Gigabyte website but that didn't help.

What DID help was checking the motherboard itself. I pressed firmly on the OP-amp and it gave a nearly inaudible tiny *click*. I booted and voila: my sound is working again.

I've seen this problem before in this thread so I thought I'd post my solution to this (mine anyway) problem thumb.gif

Thank god I tried this, I was 2 clicks away from ordering a soundcard / requesting RMA biggrin.gif

Can you elaborate a bit more where I can find these settings?

Right now, I have CPU VRIN Loadline Calibration set to Extreme (I tried "Normal" with the power saving features ON and I still got BSODs and still no voltage drop).

I also see "CPU Vcore offset = auto" and I have no options to change this.

Thanks

Whelp, I'm having the same trouble again after a few days of flawless operation. "No speakers or headphones detected".

It's definetly a common problem and I doubt its driver related as it doesnt work in windows 7, 8, or GNU/Linux.

And now I have to decide if I want to RMA or get a dedicated soundcard mad.gif

Hey guys, can anyone tell me if the m5 will work in a 350d with a pair of gigabyte 770s (non reference) in SLI?

I'm worried there won't e enough clearance between the bottom GPU and the PSU.

I know that if it does fit it will be partially blocked, but with my current motherboard the top card is entirely blocked and about to implode.

cheers.

You'll have to use the bottom slot for SLI since only the top and bottom pci-e slots to get 2 times 8x pci-e 3.0.

I think I read somewhere that that won't fit in a 350d. Is there enough clearance room in the bottom of the case with a micro atx board? You'd need 1 spot clearance above the PSU

edit: Looking at this picture:

It seems to me like it might fit. You'll be using the 1st and 4th slot and there are 5 'brackets' in the case.

Same sort of setup here:

Jesus Christ I actually edited this post 5 times because I thought it would fit, and then I thought it wouldnt, and then I thought it did, and then again I thought it didnt, but now I'm sure it does fit! biggrin.gif

Yeah it doesn't look like it will fit, but its so hard to tell, the problem is that the gigabyte versions are non reference and I think ever so slightly taller than the reference versions. I'm afraid the fan would touch the PSU which would stop it spinning.
I would love to know for sure though. Even with 1mm of space it would be better off than my current setup.
