Hey guys, i'm quite interested on this motherboard sniper 5 or his little brother m5, i was wondering how good this motherboard result to be vs the others Asus or MSI E-ATX options, i'm looking to reduce risk of issues or malfunctions, i'm just looking for the best built quality whatsoever.

All boards have quirks here and there for the M5, its the PCIe Gen3 and Audio. Gen3 mode gives you 50-50 good/bad performance on boot for its audio solution if you are using an actual 5.1 speaker upon boot the rear speakers have higher volume and you have to untick then retick the rear speaker on the control panel. I've reported this to GB and they said they cannot tell the difference. I've tried this on another M5 and it has the same issue.

But i guess they will fix this at somepoint, won't they? Do you know if this happen also in the Sniper 5 E-ATX ?

I experienced it with F3 to F6. F7 seems to have fixed it.

F7 also fixed a bug which made it impossible to enable virtualization without disabling the Haswell New Instructions.

Unfortunately F7 seems to be unable to enter sleep mode on Windows 8.1. When it resumes it just keeps spinning...

My sniper 5 has been flawless, running a 780 in the 3rd slot, the audio is perfect use it every day lol.... Using F7 bios ..

F3 was loaded on my Sniper5 and it was very unstable. Flashed to F7 and I was able to get up and running. Prefer the blue uefi bios of F3 over the jungle green of F7 tongue.gif

Currently running 4.8 but working on 4.9. Audio is Fantastic! I love the Creative control panel seeing its pretty much the same thing as in the Sniper3. Sounds is a little more "hallowed but I need to tweak it a bit.

Those waiting on the EK block, per ek, should be a bit longer. They just released the Asus blocks so the Sniper5 should be coming along in the next few weeks. Kinda of hard to replace the awesome looking stock heatsink.

No they havent fixed the Gen3 and Audio issue. The audio issue was something they could not recreate, probably they are just putting all speakers in front. For the Gen3 they are blaming all 4 of my usable GPU's 2x 680 and 2x 780

I would check the memory dump. Did you install any new software/drivers recently? Any new overclock settings? What were you doing when this happened?
