SLI is also garbage in GRID 1 & 2, Tomb Raider Underworld, and Trackmania. Yes, I'm bitter. No, its not my CPU.

Pay the xtra $150 and get a 780.

Mind to expand on the statement? Like in what way(s) is it bad? Because I know Crossfire has a lot of problems, is it the same for nVidia>?

GPU usage is all over the place and typically 67% across 2 cards. Happens on a friends 2500K @ 4.5 ao its not my cpu. Google it and you'll find lots of folks disappointed.

Compared to a friends 680 @ the same spots on the same server showed better perf than my 660s that were ALL OVER THE PLACE dipping down to 40% from time to time.

LOL

I was referring to myself. I post twice tongue.gif:p
eheh

Anyways, Jodiuh point is this: "GPU scaling can be 95% at its best and 0% at its worse". And this is true. Having two GPUs is always having one at full speed and the other at whatever the game allows*. With 1 GPU , people always get what they payed for. Not quite with 2, not certainly with 3 or 4. But the thing here is that €500 is €100 above the single card retail price at most (€300 less in total). So, even if you only have the 2nd GPU working only @ 30% at all times, you are still getting more than you payed for. But, I have seen some tests on the GTX 670 SLI scaling subject and the average went above 40% usage.

*in reality,work load is shared

I never saw one at full speed. Both 660s are equally crappy in BF3 and GRID 2 and that's all that I care about. I'm ordering a 780 as soon as its in stock and will be unloading the 660s @ that time. SLI can die in a fire. Friend of mine is doing the same thing cause SLI is BALLS in Borderlands 2.

I suppose you didn't saw the note I added. The work load is shared by the GPUs. If the game scales well, both GPUs will be above 90%. If it doesn't, the GPUs will be both lower. In many games, when v-Sync is enabled, the GPUs never reach the 90% because the work load doesn't justify it. Anyways, I don't have experience with SLi but, I have seen 99% in both of my GPUs at lot of times, trust me.

Unless you're seeing 95% usage in every game w/ no stuttering then IMO its a fail.

And that wraps it up! biggrin.gif
So very true.

There's another way to look at it, though. In my experience, many times, where those extra 30% more performance that made the difference between a playable and non-playable game at the graphics settings and resolutions I love the most. I have the most enjoyable gaming experience because I have a second GPU. And to me, that moments of dream were worthy all the money in the world..
