can you sli 670 FTW LE w/ 670 FTW (non LE)

Thread Starter
When I bought my first 670 FTW I hadn't noticed I selected the LE version of it until I got it in the mail, this was about 8 months ago. I used it anyways and never had a problem w/ it. Seems to do the job well.

However Im going to be adding two more ASUS VG248QE 24-Inch to my game room and wanting to use them together as a 3 way screen.
I would assume at the very least I need an extra GPU card?

I was looking on line and most 670 FTW / LE cost only a few bucks difference. So If I bought an gtx 670 FTW (non LE ) would it work fine in SLI w/ the LE? Also would I see any improvements in using a none LE version w/ the LE or is this the type of situation where its only as strong as your weakest link?

Thanks in advance guys

Yes you can SLI the two cards, the difference being that the LE has lower clocks so it may not o/c as high as the FTW none LE.

okay I thought so. I have never sli'd before. Would I see any gains in getting a FTW vs no LE version of it?

I guess in my mind I have some idea when oc's sli cards they would both have to pretty much be at the same clock speed for the oc to work.

You'll be limited by the one that clocks the lowest unless you uncheck to sync graphics clocks, I would go with the LE since you already have one and its a bit less expensive, but thats just me smile.gif
