My previous GTX 480 just died after installing new drivers, even going back to olders version couldn't make it work.
Right after update the card just crashed.

What it sucks (Beside of what it is, losing a card) is I don't know the manufacturer, neither have serial number since I got it from ebay 2 years ago frown.gif

In fact, I have not had any issues with the past drivers as far as I can remember either. I just use the Nvidia setup installer to do a clean install....no driver sweep or anything and have not run into any problems. Guess I may be lucky. tongue.gif

I usually do not install the hdmi audio and 3d drivers though because I don't use any of that stuff, so not sure if that helps or not. Only Physx and the video driver itself.

I have also been lucky with previous drivers and I also only install the driver and the PyhsX software, I guess with these drivers the fact my card is at stock values helps. I generally stay behind on driver versions, but this time I was playing Tomb Raider and the added performance was welcome.

At this point I have to thank you guys for alerting me, I'll be keeping an eye to see if anything strange happens. The other day the driver crashed an recovered when I tried to go back to Max Payne 3, but that is most probably because I alt-tabbed out of the game, put the computer in sleep mode and then tried to get back to the game the next day. I guess this game doesn't like that. It could be the drivers though. I have done this with other games (on previous drivers though) and they work fine.

This normally happens to peeps that always have the itch to install the most recent driver even though the previous driver was working just fine.

I don't tend to install drivers very often unless the new driver provides a boost in FPS (which hardly ever happens when dealing with old GPU's).

There are reports that the driver could potentially kill your graphics card...
also it seems the GTX 4 series is having the hardest time.
I didn't install the GeForce Experience but currently using latest drivers on both of my GTX 6 units..

"After installing this new driver, there are strange artifacts occurring in Bioshock Infinite. The performance has increased but these strange artifacts are ruining the experience. There were no such problems with the earlier drivers. Anybody facing similar issues or any different??

"Hi, good afternoon.

I was facing image corruption problems in Battlefield 3 with my EVGA GTX 660 Ti 3Gb (+SC)... and I could only solve them by downgrading the drivers to 306.97 WHQL. There's also some image corruption during a car-crash event in GRID 2. StarCraft 2 still crashes just by start playing.

Anyway, the 306.97 seems to be the most stable driver nVidia released so far for the GTX 600 series.

Cheers!

Koben.

Most report odd artifacts, hard boot, not booting at all and.... dead hardware...
you guys might want to read the forum thread before using it..

Only issue I've discovered on my 780 is non-error crashes on LoL, usually not long after the match starts. But then again Riot is always incredibly slow at updating their client after new drivers are released.
