magician out of startup

I disabled magician 3.2 in startup
Am i stopping any processes that my 830 needs?

Nope! Storage drives and optical drives don't need any software, just the generic Microsoft driver. Of course, the SATA controller needs a driver too, but that's a little bit unrelated to this.

It's a computer!

Yep, this is a great way to find out what you need and what you don't.

Yes HKLM:Run vProt AVG Technologies "C:\Program Files\AVG SafeGuard toolbar\vprot.exe"
Yes Startup User Samsung SSD Magician.lnk Samsung Electronics. C:\Program Files\Samsung SSD Magician\Samsung SSD Magician.exe

For example, as an experiment I would disable the following:

AdobeBridge

GoogleToolbarNotifier

Adobe ARM

AdobeAAMUpdater

AdobeCS5ServiceManager

RtHDVCpl Realtek Semiconductor

SunJavaUpdateSched Sun MIcrosystems (I can tell you right now that I always delete this one because I prefer to update it when I feel like it lol)

SwitchBoard Adobe Systems Incorporated

vProt VG Technologies

And of course, Samsung SSD Magician

Disable these first in msconfig. If you find any problems with any of the related programs, then re-enable the ones that need to be re-enabled. For all the ones that don't leave behind any problems, the next step is to re-enable them and then go find them in the Registry and delete them.

Have you noticed that after you run Magician (that was not auto-started) and exit it, it will still be running in the background as if it was auto-started?

Annoying but true, why Samsung feels it is necessary to keep it running is beyond me, I suppose you need to check for a firmware update multiple times a day, every day. kookoo.gif
