First of all welcome, if you have any issue with the boards please list them here and I can report them to GBT to be fixed. Please do not PM me to RMAs or samples, I don't work for giga. If you have an issue the knowledgeable people here can help you out, however you might want to also try gigabyte's tech support before or after. I have the majority of these boards already so I can always check and see your issue if I have the other hardware as well. Now let's cover some of the features brand new to this generation across the UD boards.
Latest BIOSes here.

#1. Power Delivery: The UP thing is now a thing of the past, however all these GIGABYTE Z87 boards have the PowIRstages which are very high quality compared to most discrete MOSFETs.
#2. Fan Control: The new hardware/BIOS and Software allow for much improved fan control, on boards UD4H(M5 included) and down users will have control over 3 headers(maybe 4 as i think 2 might be combined, i have to double check that) and boards UD5H and up(including OC series) will have total control over at least 6 headers(many times 7) as these boards have something call EC which supplements the BIOS and SuperIO.
#3. Most boards also have the built in front headphone amplifier, the DRV632, this is a pretty cool amp and you can find it on the UD3H even, it can drive 600ohms.
#4. Software: GBT got a lot of complaints about their EasyTune6 and all the issues like DPC and the such, GIGABYTE redesigned it from input from the community like from facebook and forums, the new EasyTune is just called EasyTune(no number) and while it is still in its early stages it has some cool features, especially for fan control. Their new App center also is pretty comprehensive.

Some known things:
#1. HD mode in the UEFI's Windows mode only works with 1080P and above monitors and certain higher end GPUs, the iGPU isn't' supported but I am sure they are working on this.
#2. Try to use BMP format for changing the BIOS background.
#3. If you can't set the BCLK dividers(they all should work, except 2.5x lol) then most likely your ME is corrupted, another sign of this is after you save and exit the system hangs at a blank screen before shutting down.

Soon to be released boards:

You need to go to the "Advanced" tab and change the setting for the ITF controller to "software controlled" and tick the "remember it" box. Do that for all 3 PWM controllers so Speedfan is given permissions to control. Then you'll have to tick the "automatically variate" boxes for each controller under the "Speed" tab.

Speedfan seems to also have a -15C temperature offset for the cores so under the "Advanced" tab for the Intel sensors, enter a value of +15C offset for all the cores. That should fix everything.

I believe the CPU header cannot control 3 pin fans so try the SYS headers. This should get it to work.

Awesome, my i5-4760k and ud5h is in the post, arriving today, so definitely hanging out here!
Anyone want me to do some unboxing pics?

got 4770k and UD5H two days ago. Can't get it to work. Seems some sort of I/O problem. Windows just keep crashing. Acronis image restore is failing every other time.

Sin, you sure the DRV632 can drive my 50ohm headphone?! biggrin.gifwink.gif

Do you have any idea what the DPC value should hover around during light load? I'm not getting any audio drop outs from my ES9018 DAC so it should be pretty decent.

Also got any idea why my Speedfan isn't reporting the correct core temperatures?

I highly doubt the amp will drive orthodynamics. Speedfan needs to be updated. Why won't you use Easytune? New programs from GB seem to be nice.

Great I already have my 4770k and UD4H sitting in the other room, I'm waiting for new ram(upgrading from a core 2 quad so i was on DDR2), my ssd and new tubes for my water loop.
Thanks for this thread sin. And btw Do you know why my UD4H is soo heavy, i love it because it just feels so high quality, is it because it is an ultra durable 5+?

I'll give Easytune a try. Been thinking about it, just haven't gotten around to it.

Thick PCB and heavy heatsinks. Gigabyte boards are definitely made VERY well.

Yeah i knew the PCB was thicker, I didn't realise the heatsinks were all that much better. I originally had the msi z87-GD65 and then took it back an swapped it for my UD4H and man the second i looked in the box and picked the board up i was just like "OH MY GOD THIS THING WEIGHS A ****TON". It feels so high quality and just looks sooooooo good. Plus it has more power phases with than the msi. I have my core 2 quad sitting on a Gigabyte P43 ultradurable 3 board and it has lasted like 3+ years with me after an asus and foxconn died.
