Question. My GA-Z87X-UD5H board has a physically switchable dual bios. Bios 1 currently has F7 on it and bios 2 has F3 which originally came on the board.

Can I switch to bios 2, manually flash F8f beta to it and keep bios 1 as it is with F7. That way I can keep a known working bios on #1 that I can easily switch to and experiment with betas on #2.

Has anyone actually done this?
Thanks

Yes, I've done exactly that several times. Works a treat.

Whenever I have my SD card reader or usb 3.0 extenral drive plugged in my pc does not want to boot, it will sit at the bios splash screen or read " inproper boot device please insert boot device"

inside my bios i have my boot order set to my ssd though.. i don't get it. it gives me A2 debug led. IF i reboot with no usb hard drive or sd card reader in my pc it works fine though.

Anyone having trouble monitoring voltages via software? I can seem to get any program to accurately monitor volts other than cpu.

Have you tried HWInfo? It seems to work pretty well with Gigabyte boards.

Ah hah, so you are Boondocks. Well thanks twice for responding. Also thanks to Forceman.

Everyone agrees it will work, just wanted to be sure.
Haven't tried it yet as I just got delayed by my cars water pump going out which I am tearing into. Saving $180 in labor so I can spend it on computers!
Any more I prefer working on electronics than greasy cars, not sure which one I could do without though.

I wonder if I will notice any diff between F7 and F8f since I am not overclocking?

Believe it or not, I just changed the water pump on the wife's Grand Cherokee yesterday! Some coincidence.
Banged hell out of my knuckles loosening the top bolt with double wrenches....I went off and found my 1/2" metric ratchet set after that.

A couple questions.

1) Is there a specific reason as to why C6/C7 is disabled by default on my Z87x-UD3H when the setting is on auto? It seems to work fine after enabling it.

2) How can I monitor VRM temps? I thought it would be one of the IRF sensor but under both of them none of the temps change from idle to a full blown stress with the latest prime95 beta. (using hwinfo to check these)
