I would like to report an issue on Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H (this occurs on both BIOS F6k and F5, I have not tested others).
The issue is with the native 6 ports on the SATA controller. I have 1 DVD drive, 1 SSD, and 4 hard drives hooked up. When all are connected to the primary 6 ports (not the Marvell) one hard drive is always not detected in the BIOS (and obviously Windows). But if I simply unplug the drive that isn't being detected, plug it into the Marvell SATA port, it is detected. So I know the cable is good, drive is good, etc... but for some reason if all 6 native SATA ports are populated then one device will not be detected properly. Last thing is my system would POST and load into Windows (clean load) really fast with just the DVD drive and SSD hooked up. With all SATA populated, the board hangs for a while on the Gigabyte logo and also takes a lot longer to boot into Windows. I haven't timed it, the BIOS hang isn't too bad but booting to Windows seems a good while longer.

Pros: has everything i need in a reasonable price range
Cons: for some reason my 4th hard drive won't work. unplugged one of the other 3 but still didnt work and put the hd in another computer and worked perfect. not sure what to do...
I don't want to RMA. I think this is a BIOS problem or perhaps something even wrong with the chipset itself (which maybe means RMA?
) Anyway please pass this along to Gigabyte if you see this Sin and see if they/you can replicate the issue and see if there is a fix. I would be glad to troubleshoot with them and/or flash test BIOSes. Other than that I'm really enjoying this board with the BIOS and quality of the components.Edited by Dopamin3 - 6/25/13 at 11:33pm
