Computer turns on for half a second and won't boot.

Hi Overclock. I was just playing my games with my PC as per usual. And my computer suddenly shut off. I've assumed that was because it is a hot day where I live, and a part in my computer overheated from gaming + the already hot air in my room. My cooling in my computer is fairly good. Fulltower... Sealed liquid cooled CPU. But the bottom case fan on my Antec 1200 is broken from a shorted wire (poor cablemanagement wore the wire jacket down) So I suspect my PSU with has a bottom facing fan, overheated from gaming, a hot day and a broken case fan.

So I took the case window off. Vaccuumed the inside out and underneth the PSU. The dust wasn't that much but the PSU did feel hot. I then pressed the power button and to my joy the computer began to boot. Before it could however, I pressed the power button again to shut it down. And continue my case clean-up. So I vacuum and get everything setup once again. Press the button, and now. Every time i press the power button even after leaving it for a while. The computers LED's light up, all my fans spin and for a half second. But then it stops. I saw the PSU fan move as well. But not for a full turn. It only shook on the bearing.

So...

What do I need to do to figure out how to fix my problem?

I currently have hte PSU remoed and on my kitchen counter. I'm thinking of trying the paper clip test. I heard its a good way to tell if your PSU is running properly.

Thanks for your replies ahead of time.

Yes that is quite a good test. However you could try putting it back. Sometimes it could be the power connector to the motherboard. It seems to be your power supply. If you have another one try that.

I am running a RAID 0 configuration. I'm nervous about having to redo my RAID config and then reinstalling literally everything again.

I plan on this year in Christmas to buy myself huge upgrades for the rig including SSD's or a much more sensible HDD config than this RAID. It's just to risky and a pain to reinstall if I encounter prolems like this.

So...

Should I clear the CMOS? If I do will I have to redo my RAID? I should be able to just change the storage mode to RAID and the BIOS will recognize the RAID config that already existed right?

If it doesn't it's not a crisis. Just pain in the A.

BRB clearing CMOS.

I don't know what to do next.

I've cleared the CMOS, no luck, done the paper clip test, and passed. But no luck. Ive removed RAM and tried... Same thing.

Nothing smells of ozone, nothing is remotely hot or warm now. Every connection seems secure. And it's nothing my my PSU to the wall and the tower.

MOBO LED is green while power supply connected as well.

I've got no bloody clue.

I think I'm onto something... On my motherboard I have two very small fans cooling chipsets. It's the ASUS Sabertooth? Anyone know of it.

When I press power, these two fans do not move a millimeter.

Now, these arn't like case fans. Is there a small chance these don't start until later on in boot?

I'm secretly hoping it's the motherboard. Because this motherboard has five year warrantly. One of it's main selling points was reliability/hardware. And if it's died on me only 4ish months into use then I should claim warranty.

I have just put an RMA request in for my motherboard. It's got a warranty of 5 years. Considering I've used it for 6 months and with a warranty of that long. What do you guys think my chances are of getting a replacement? I've never put a RMA request in before. For anything :S.

In the meantime I guess I'm doing last minute homework for school and hopefully next week or late this week I get a replacement lol.
