Will say I'm going to comment a lot in this thread deserves attention
I'm excite to start work on mine
Doing tons of transferring and going to make use of the 30gb ssd I have when I get the caddy for the optical bay, I will try and see if I can set up just like yours for sake of speed and reliability also save the msata for basic stuff nothing insane

Heck might even reinstall and freshen up a bit but have to find a win7 DVD first sucks that I don't have any at all and they don't sell at best buy anymore ( have three copies in wi but two three states away drive to get them from storage and nobody can pick them up hahah

How does the system symbolic links work really
I'm reading a guide from x dude blog and its kinda confusing
Your just using junctions bu giving the permissions for specific files that are not able to move easily like drag and drop to another location that's what I'm seeing....

It's confusing at first until you do it a few times then it just "oh I get it"
It basically just changes your default file path for your user folders, you use the locations tab and I just copy paste to my user file leaving the folder name there.
It changes the default file path for you via the properties diaglog box(like it does it in the registry for you)
Like this
Right click-->locations tab-->select the text but leave the folder name--> Paste D:\FranBunnyFFXII\[folder name is here]
So like C:\Users\FranBunnyFFXII\My Documents ---> D:\FranBunnyFFXII\My Documents.

So the name would have to be the same, that makes sense font want to co fuse my documents with my junk
Makes sense just have to really look at it differently, and with patience

Have you noticed any improvements in doing so other than space saving?
I know I'm going to be removing all games from ssd but keeping Lightroom and Lightroom timelapse on the ssd just because they don't impact great space
Know that I can change the locations of all collections and such to external and secondary drive

the file system is just lighting fast. I mean I've never really used SSDs before like 4 weeks ago when alienware gave me a 512gb ssd for a replacement of my 750GB HDD that failed(My fault). And its oh my hell fast.
I cant tell the difference between this 512GB SSD and the HDD+boot and cashing SSD set up in my m17X.

What I really want to learn is how to Downsample on this mobility chipset+built in display, along with how to change the 1866mhz memory timings a bit so I can get a better score without pushing the gpu much further, but any xmp profile I load or custom profile I use just doesn't work.

Unfortunately even with the svl7 bios I don't believe you can adjust memory timings via bios. I know I couldn't when I still had my r2. The alternative is to flash the rom on your memory using typhoon burner (on the free version, I had to boot to a 32bit XP and was able to tweak timings on the ram I had). The downside with this is, ofc, if the ram can't handle the timings its not so easy to recovery as its literally modifying the eeprom on the ram module itself with whatever timings you added into a a specific JEDEC. On second thought, just leave the ram alone and be happy with GPU/CPU/SSD upgrades.

Either way, beautiful laptop and the 7970m is a powerhouse of a card for a laptop.

I've not changed my desktop in years. I use the same super clean efficient layout from defaults for a really long time.

It started with the Windows 7 OS Tan Nanami Madobe theme from Japan, and then I used my own wallpaper set(2 of which are of Nanami), then I switched the windows colors to a saturated purple, then I eventually moved the side bar to the left hand of the screen, Added my CPU and flowerclock gadgets and then at one point I started using the slide show gadget. I found a log in tweaker that let me change my login screen, so I changed that to an Ecchi catgirl picture(Semi NSFW) and its been that way ever since.

I only add 3 wallpapers at a time and I usually take months and months to find ones I think are worthy of being in my wallpaper set. I started out with 6, now I'm up to 12. One of them is of my WoW blood elf, so I'm thinking of finding game graphics visual enhancements and taking screenshots of my Norn and Fiona and adding them to my wallpapers, but I'd need a 3rd wallpaper to complete a set.

I have very odd and preferential way of running a PC, its mostly a clean and unaltered build of windows that can be reset up in just a few hours if need be, but it allows really low possibility of conflict and it strives from my desire for simplicity and peace.
Extravagance in celebration of human nature, and simplicity in the way things are as a whole. My desktop and my computer as a whole is very personal expression of a sense of self for me, its something that is very close to me as a person. I don't refer to my computers as toys or little things that are just to be tinkered with. A computer to me, is a personal item of ownership and an extension of ones self. In the same way that a samurai treated their sword, I think a computer should be treated in the same way.

Who knew that so much philosophical ideas could be derived from something so simple?
Here's my current desktop, and the images in shuffle that change every 30 seconds.

I'm curious
See the wallpaper in that screenshot? Care to guess what inspired that? Why I choose it for such a place of importance?
I'd love to see what people think.

Interesting,
As for the question, not capable of answering because I don't know you in a personal nor have met face to face to understand who you are not why you chose that. Though answer for the query I have none. But eff it ill shoot
You are a random, specific kind of person... Basic.. Wonder if you play in trees or on mountain sides... Or you were the voice for that animation character in that show
I don't know, your who you are none will bother you with their personal judgements of whom you are so answering that is kind of a personal hit that I would get wrong...

If you watched my videos of me working with the laptop you might have noticed I was wearing US Army digital camo pants.

I spent 2 years in the US Army. "Girl with a rifle" It was a very bittersweet time in my life. The image characterizes a snapshot of a moment in time where nothing in the world matters to the subject. Its just them the rifle and the target, and the moment right after the decision was taken to ultimately change the life of another for eternity.
That's what I was, a "girl with a rifle."
