Hate to bump this so old but I got a new CPU and I have all my new adaptors and new powerstrip for my Eyefinity set up. I'm only able to run 2x1 eyefinity 3200x900 and 2560x720 resolutions at the moment.

Had a bit of a mix up and ended up getting a new Processor out of it and overclocked it a bit.
i7 3740QM @ 2.7ghz.
OC: 3.77ghz stable on 4 cores 8 threads, physics of 9200+ 3dmark11. so It's looking to be a very strong system longevity wise. I've heard rumor of the 9970M card to be released soon after the desktop cards so i'll be looking into that and posting when I can get that in the system and start benching it out.

But for now

Eyefinity coming soon!

I updated my specs! Cya soon.

Now you just gotta upgrade the GPU to the 780M and you'll be set. :3

I'm waiting for the Alienware 9970M to come out. its suppose to have 15% more power per rop unit and a few hundred more stream processors but im not holding my breath on it, even if its just 10% more power its that much more I can overclock when I get it biggrin.gif

This is how I got it set up right now

and some games at 2160x1215, via active minidp to dvi adaptor

Made a huge update to the original post and fixed somethings Also I finally found a 1ghz+ stable OC in benching and gaming.
Just under 5K 3dmark firestrike though, but without raising the memory voltage the card just wont let me increase the memory speed beyond this 1225mhz, which is irritating
4ghz CPU OC 1ghz GPU OC, Ghz Edition 7970M laptop achived biggrin.gif

Pretty sure you won't gain any performance via overclocking the memory. You might gain a little, but right now you're running a stock 7870... which is still really fast. tongue.gif

actually getting the memory to 1365mhz(that GPUs sweetspot) would give me a good I think 200 more points in 3dmark Firestrike. I would like to get it.

But the 1ghz is fine I'm just finally glad to get it to run 99% stable on 1ghz+. I'll look forward for the flagship HD R9 209X mobile edition card.

Very pleased with this build.

Oh someone desided to pop off on me with some anti alienware hate and got burned when he made the mistake of claiming a G750 with a GTX 770M beat my score by 1000 points. Sorely mistaken fool got burned badly when I proved my scores were well over 2500 points greater.

4ghz CPU, 1ghz GPU, 1866mhz CL11 RAM, SSD boot and cashing, Wicked fast little monster hehe?

Thanks for your interest in this build guys, it'll be updated and shown off again when I can run my 3 screen landscape eyefinity. Debezel and performance hopefully sooner than later.

I'm about to upgrade this week myself. Identitycrisis is selling me his M17x R3 without the GPU or the drives for $700. I've already got those coming from the R2 I use now. biggrin.gif
