Air/Water Suggestion

I am off to college in a few months, would like to downsize from my custom water loop even though I love it.

One part of it is a new case, I'm downsizing to a mid-tower.

What would you recommend for a cooler, whether is a air or a closed-loop water for a mid-tower case?

i7 3930k, Rampage IV Formula

Case is undecided atm.

Phanteks PH-TC14PE, Noctua NH-D14 or NH-U14S, Silver Arrow SB-E (any of them), DeepCool Assassin, Silverstone HE01.. whichever you like the best or is cheapest. All perform within a couple degrees of each other.

If you want something not quite as good there are many others;

I would go with any of the aircoolers suggested by doyll. (Phanteks PH-TC14PE, Noctua NH-D14 or NH-U14S, Silver Arrow SB-E)

As far as case goes it doesn't hurt to have something that looks to be a "sleeper" case for school. Simple Lian Li without a window or a Fractal Design arc Midi or an antec 300. Just don't want to advertise expensive computer just in case. No pun intended.

That's a good point. thumb.gif

Maybe try to find a good used case so it looks like your system is a few years old.

new Arc Midi R2 comes with smoked window :/

Go with Noctua U14s... your computer will be so brown nobody will steal it. XD

All indications are that the NF-A15 PWM fan is superb.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO

I really like the look of the Arc Midi R2. I love it. Now, the Rampage IV Formula should fit, but a Noctua will fit in there too? What are your thoughts on a Noctua vs a H80i?

Twin towers are as good or better, quieter, and are way more dependable

Twin towers?

The ones I listed are "twin towers". They all have 2 cooling fin areas with a fan on each one.
