List of Haswell laptops

Thread Starter
Hey there,
my first post here. I'm going to buy a haswell laptop in a few months so I began to search for the newly announced haswell models and I thought we could try to create a list of them together.

Please try to always use this template and to keep other talking at minimum (to keep this clean). Thank you!

Maybe it's just me, but $1200+ is a little bit on the HIGH end for a laptop..

Spec wise, sure it's better....but why is it that laptops that are just a little thicker cost half as much.....

One thing that has been pissing me off about ultrabooks is that when you find one that didn't skimp on the processor, you see it only has a 4gb cache drive with a mechanical hard drive. Then when you find a Ultrabook with a nice 128-256gb SSD, you find that they skimped on the CPU.....

The only Ultrabook that really didn't skimp on anything over this past year was Sony's Vaio ultrabrooks....but they were at $1600-2000 dollars mad.gif

I just put in an order for one of these. I didn't find it on the manufacturers site, so I linked to the distributor. Sager has a whole lineup of Haswell-based laptops available already.

The Sager 8250 is much better for the money. Especially if you plan on upgrading it with any substantial parts. Any high capacity SSDs really shouldn't be placed on machines that offer little expansion room.

Not really, the starting price on that one is $300 more, and the only difference is a slightly better graphics card (770M vs 765M).
If your comparing the base configuration and price, then there's no way the 8250 is a better value. If you're comparing with lots of upgrade options, then yeah it's got much more capability. But at a much higher price, so it's not better for the money. It's just more money for the upgrades.

I'm also looking for a Haswell laptop, but not for gaming. I'm looking for a 10.1" or 11.6" laptop/netbook that is under $500. The cheapest one I could find is a 15.6" HP Envy for $800. Too much for my purposes. Here's the link for those interested: http://shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/E4T17AV?HP-ENVY-15t-j000-Quad-Edition-Notebook-PC
