AHCIx64s.sys crashing no matter what?!

post #1 of 2
Thread Starter
So i set together this system for a friend based on the new AMD APU.

The system consists of the following hardware;

ASRock A55M-DGS mATX
1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA 6Gbit/s 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA 6Gbit/s
AMD A6 5400K 3,6 Ghz FM2 AMD A6 5400K 3,6 Ghz FM2
Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE LP Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE LP

Ive installed both windows 7 and windows 8 64bit. The OS crashes on startup and just resets instantly. This is between the splashsceen and the logon screen.

Tried changing settings from AHCI mode to IDE mode in bios aswell, no change.

When i start the computer in Safe mode with command prompt it just freezes at loading AHCIx64s.sys.
I tried loading new AHCI drivers from motherboard cd and downloaded newer ahci drivers, still no luck.

Anyone has any clue of how to solve this problem? Im surprized that theres not more info on this since it just appears out of nowhere.

Cheers.
