haha I don't think I would ever be able to break that. Oh btw how much is it to step up to an 8800gtx from my 7900?

not really fanboyism actually... eVGA does have a history of releasing the most drastically overclocked from the factory cards. I mean just look what they managed to wring from the 7900GT's...

edit: Here

I expect their overclocked 8800's will cost at least $100 more than the regular clocked ones.

Hopefully the EVGA AC3 cards will be overclocked. These are the ones with the full black HSF the covers the entire PCB.
Once again...

Great!

Now that the prices for the 8800s are coming down to their suggested MSRP, now XFX is going to charge yet another fortune for the XXX edition.

Why bother? just OC the card yourself, I hear the GTX can do 615 easy. And a 15mhz more is not going to kill anyone, as it is, the card is insanely fast on DX9 benches, but who knows on DX10?

I'm patiently waiting for the prices go down even more.

but couldn't you overclock the 8800GTX XXX even more... cause even when it is factory overclocked it could be overclocked even more right ?

you could but the stock heat-sink/fan would be able to take only so much.

I've seen a guy saying his did 670/2000: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...88&postcount=1

Is it true? I'm not sure but with better cooling option ANY G80 would overclock sky high but may some mod will be require to be able to provide all the voltage needed for the overclock setting.

then that would say the factory overclocked G80 has an higer core temp and is almost at his limit...

but if that would be the problem then put on a aftermarket HSF (btw the link doens't work (login error )

Most likely not any farther than a stock one. Just because it starts higher doesn't mean it ends up higher.
