Probably because Chrome started with the rapid release model, and there have been some growing pains because of the change. Though they're counting even faster than Chrome, they've nearly caught up numbers in half a year.

Why are people surprised that they are copying the chrome GUI? They did the same thing with the Opera GUI with FF 4. If you want old FF GUI then you can still use opera.

Gotta love OCN sometimes.

It's a persona, it just changes the background image and color. the icons and tabs are the same.

They're exactly the same. A persona is just an incomplete theme ( background and style, but not buttons or other images changed ), both install exactly the same way. Find the one you want, click install, be happy.

Want the classic Firefox look? There's a theme for that! One click and done. Want a Chrome copy? There's a theme for that too! Everything.

So you still agreed with something being too much work, when it's exactly the same process for what you've already done.

No, not really.
Dude.

I know about waterfox and used it for a while, but the fact is it is still based on firefox and is subject to whatever bloat firefox has that makes it so slow.

And YES firefox is slower than chrome by seconds in some important tasks (startup being one, video playback on some sites). So don't tell me "no not really" when you have no idea what you're talking about.

You said 64bit Firefox. I gave the solution, you want to cut the bloat, it's open source.

No, it's not seconds. Cold startup is one thing, after both programs have been cached the startup is too close for most to recognize with their bare eyes. As for sites, videos, etc tests have all been done to death, the difference is milliseconds, not seconds. Go look them up, I don't feel like having to prove something that's been beaten to death already. Neither is really any faster than the other when going toe to toe.

The only advantage Chrome has, is that it pre-loads every link on the page to make it seem faster. Turn that feature off, or add it to Firefox, and again both are toe to toe. So, what don't I know?

Why so offensive? Lol.
