Need help decide which 780 to get to SLI

Hi after working I've managed to get some money to spend on my rig.

right now I have 670 ftw ed, which is in queue for step up with evga.
since the only card i could get was the GTX 780 Reference model,
will it be alright to get another 780 (EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC pref.) and SLI?

from what i understand they are compatible in which they have the same VRAM so I wont be wasting and VRAM if they were to be different.

or should i get the ACX version that has dual fans and put that ACX card on the bottom for air flow purposes?

would i even see any difference in performanace between the ACX vs SC vs Reference model as my second card?

also im not really big into overclocking my GPU...

TL;DR -

1. i have evga gtx 780 ref on the way.
2. i want to sli with either: 780 Ref, 780 SC, or 780 SC /w ACX
3. which would be a better choice performance wise, considering that i would probably not overclock them?

thank you!

I'd stay with a reference one just because they will look better than a reference with the ACX. Since none of the 780 cards are binned chips yet all the GPUs are basically luck of the draw, but if you don't plan to OC anyway that doesn't really matter. Also two reference cards are generally better for SLI temps because they dump the heat from the card outside of the case rather than circulating it back in like the ACX cooler.

sweet

im really hoping that 780SLI will be enough to run "most" games at high-ultra settings with no AA at 1440p.

hopefully with high FPS...

I'm sure you'll be fine. Most of the reviews show a single 780 running most games Max at 1440p.
