[Build Log] Project Sweetheart (AKA project POWER MELON!)

Hello All,

this is a build that actually started off with a monthly draw prize from dazmode, i wound up winning a LD PC-V7 case 420/280, i actually won it on my order for a 360 rad/ basic loop for this comuter, go figure.

just a heads up, this isnt a super computer build, quite the opposite, this is pieced together from spare parts of previous upgrades. with that in mind it isnt a terrible system, just not top of the line. anyhoo, i digress.

*also i know the mobo and ram dont match the colour scheme of the rest of the build, but i work with what i have tongue.gif *

System:
Phenom II 965 BE (rev C)
2x 4Gb Kingston DDR3 1600
Zotac Geforce 550 Ti 1gb
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
250 Gb Seagate Hdd
1Tb WD black Hdd
2Tb WD green Hdd
128gb SSD - soon to be added (prize from OCN CC)
XSPC Raystorm 750 RX360 WC kit
Mayhem UV Pink Dye

So lets start off the build with the mess that used to be the "guest" computer/finaces' computer

as you can see its a mess of cobbled together items and spliced together H-series coolers, also hard drives just laying where they fall :S

i guess next we'll show what the case looked like before i started

this is the colour Natasha wanted (Natasha being the fiance) [the colour is why I nicknamed it Power Melon]

time for sanding!

a couple hours later and its time for priming! (yeah i live in a apartment so i dont have a proper paint booth, boxes seem to work well)

after the primer coats set its time for paint, pink watermelon paint!

now that the paint has dried lets start hooking up the guts

after a 24hr leak test lets see how she looks all put together

there will be more pics/mods coming, unfortunately i am between jobs and money is tight so it may be a little slow from here on out

making a few minor changes today.

mostly just worked on some colour accents and added a rear intake fan

the top rad SHOULD be a 420, however i won the case from Dazmode on an order for a 360, so i jerry-rigged a 360 into the 420's spot. its an XSPC rad from this kit http://www.dazmode.com/store/product/raystorm-750-rx360-watercooling-kit-intel-and-amd-computers/

according to the spec's of the XSPC RX360 it is 63mm thick, i currently have it in a push config
