Phantom Menace 2: all aboard the Haswell train! - Page 2

I prefer using AIDA64 for testing, supposedly safer because it doesn't allow as high of a tdp . anyways it has alot of meters and such as well

Good morning!

Well I have some good news.

So using 1.2v vcore, 1.9 vrin, 1.1 ring voltage, I'm about 7 hours prime 95 stable now. I had tried the same speed with higher vcore but not tweaking these other settings and it failed miserably. So it pays to be patient and tweak everything.

EDIT - See below, this was not actually stable.
Computer fell asleep for a few hours -_________-

Good overclocking on haswell sofar. I've seen some really high voltages for the clocks some people have been working at...definitely around or higher voltage than even my i5-2500K.... 1.280V stable @ 4.5Ghz...I like it!

Wow NoodleGTS thats some serious Shiny Shiny

I have just taken one those xigmatek orange with white lights out of my case, as it was making a right racket.
mounted in the top exhausting.

replaced with Enermax Cluster 140mm, and while not on PWM yet, its much quieter, with just a WHOOSH,
the fans are white with white lights, which hopefully might be an option for your internals.

Loving the build, keep us updated on your OC.

Now build a blue one for the other portal! smile.gif

I built my system last night, and would you know it, 1st world problem, my True Spirit 140 is too big, it intrudes on PCI-E slot 1.
booo!

Looking good NoodleGTS the temperatures are a tad high though, do you intend to mess with the cooling more?

Remember when I said I was stable? Well, I wasn't. Stupid Windows 8 made my computer fall asleep for most of that test so it was only about 3 hours of actual testing.

1.225vcore gets me stable at 4.4GHz for reals.
Other settings: 2.0v vrin, 1.15v ring, 1.65v ram, 44x multiplier, and 2133MHz on the ram. That's all I've touched so far.

Here's a 3DMark 13 run at 4.5GHz and stock GPU clocks.
