Pulling my hair out with this GTX 780 / Titan issue - Page 2

Pretty sure the issue is crappy engine and multi-threading support. You are CPU bottlenecked. Try overclocking it. :-)

This.

Even with a massive CPU OC if the engine is a piece of.. it will still murder your FPS when around a lot of players. It's mostly to do with poorly designed/optimised player meshes, animations, sprite-effects and game maths.

If you can, try your card on some other pc with same game.
Then the same CPU and mobo with a weaker card.
Are your CPU temperatures normal? From the read it looks like a bottleneck but idk why would that cpu bottleneck a 780 arrowheadsmiley.png

I do not play Darkfall but I am starting to guess that the game itself might be poorly optimized. an example of a poorly optimized game is GTA 4, running on an overclocked i7 CPU with the strongest graphics card in the world (GTX TITAN / GTX 690) still gives you no more than 25-60 FPS in a 1080p/1200p monitor setup.

one of the things i would do in a gaming i7 machine is disabling core parking, here is a guide on how to do that.

make sure you got the latest nvidia drivers for your graphics cards as the GeForce 320.18 drivers are the latest WHQL drivers.

if the game has intense AA how about lowering down those settings and check if your game performs better with them disabled. but yet again... i do understand you have a beefy system and would want to push all your games to the max but as i have mentioned that maybe poor game optimization is causing you the issue in this case.

have EVGA precision X or MSI afterburner check your GPU clocks while gaming and make sure they are clocking as they are supposed to in-game and also when running a system benchmark for testing.

best of luck and i hope that helped.

EDIT: forgot to add, check your nvidia control panel and make sure that game Physx is set to your graphics card.

Will try this stuff, thanks for the input.

And yes, it happens in APB as well. Guess I need to get some bench marking software, any suggestions for free software?

But my CPU never shows much over 50% usage. Why would a CPU bottleneck, cause my GPU to throttle back so much?

Just for more info, I have a friend with the EXACT same rig, but his Titan runs Darkfall great.

Bad multi-threading support. Also i'd still check your hdd's bad blocks.

APB is a horribly optimized game and when i say that i mean it. Titan should be able to run any game on maxest settings in the history of settings. And if it doesn't run properly it's usually the engine of the game being horrifically bad. take Tomb Raider as an example when it first came out i was getting SOLID 30/40FPS on GTx 680. Few months later and a couple of drivers + patches rocking above 60 easily. It was like what 80% improvement with drivers. All i am saying is before u start destroying your computer looking for a reason maybe the problem is with how horrifically optimized the game is ?. I've had my share of issues with APB. Try playing a game that is known to be well optimized for Titan something glorious with extremely taxing graphics if you have it. Or a nice benchmarks like 3D mark. If your card gets good FPS in those things than you can be sure as hell, it ain't no bottleneck and it's the awful optimization of the games.

If the newest drivers don't work, experiment with different drivers. Assassins Creed 3 artifacts for me with the latest driver (320.18?), and it seemed like it was common with those drivers. So I rolled back to 314.?? and now AC3 works flawlessly. You might just have to use an older driver until Nvidia fixes the issue with a newer driver smile.gif Hope you get it sorted out.
