I have 250CDN to spend: How do I upgrade folding rig?

Thread Starter
Title says it all. The only thing I do want is quieter fans. I have 3 stock thermaltake fans (2x120, 1x90). The cooler isn't exactly silent @ 2700RPM either.

So that set aside, I'm guessing for performance the best thing to do is go with a new processor? I weary of upcomming 45nm technology and cheaper quad core solutions.

Should I bother? I can't get past 460FSB, because Gigabyte S3 doesn't play nice with D9 RAM. Also, I always thought the chipset was pretty hot, but the AC7 is pretty big and hinders the installation of a chipset cooler.

Thoughts, suggestions, and comments are all welcome.

Jimmy

You could get an X1600 or X1800 to get some gfx folding( I don't know if you can afford an X1900, what does 250CDN give in US$ ?), or yes you could upgrade the processor...
