best water cooling pump for under $100? - Page 2

If you really like that pump housing I'm sure it could be made leak proof very easily.

All you need to do is go to a metal worker or air conditioning installer and get a small off cut of very thin stainless steel sheet. Use the nylon top of the housing to trace a piece the right size and with the right hole centres for the screws and sandwich the SS under the nylon top. That will increases the stiffness and keep the o-ring compressed.

Problem fixed cheaply and easily.

ive seen the 'use stainless steel' answer before. stainless steel can rust. the higher the chromium content, the less chance rust will occur.

Actually the best and easiest thing to do would be like Electrocutor told you just order a D5 Pump without top and just replace the pump keep same reservoir you have...

But it is your time and money!! So do as you please just my 2 cents....

Chances are your loop is already full of Stainless. Its used in CPU blocks for Impingement plates, GPU blocks for VRM bridges and top plates, and the D5 pump itself.
It isn't a problem.

could i just use some silicon sealant around the pump? i could leave the cap loose to prevent pressure.
