Lumia 928 - Page 3

Alright guys, I should have a word on which carrier I'm getting this week hopefully. Its either AT&T or verizon. However, AT&T doesn't show the Lumina 928, they show the 920... So I'm wondering, is it really a deal breaker between the 28 and 20 on the 2 carriers? Verizon has the 928. The plan difference might be $5-10/mon difference between the two so I'm workin that out right now...

If you're bent on the 928 vs 920, the 928 is a better phone. Verizon has a shared data plan if that's what you're looking for, as well.

ALso if you get your 928 before the 31st you get 25 dollars credit for the microsoft app store.

I just got the 928 as well. Great phone and after rebate mine ended up being just 50 bucks when i signed up with my new verizon plan. Also got the 25 dollar app gift card. Great deal really. Verizon has always treated me well and the coverage is good (I live out in the country).

Features I like:
Very fast and responsive
32Gig space for stuff with an additional 7Gig on the sky drive.
Office built in. I do a lot of spreadsheets for work and its nice to be able to pull them up and edit them if needed.
Looks great with big screen and touch controls are responsive.
Works well with my win8 desktop and sharing via wireless

Few things i don't like:
Not sure about the 920 but the 928 has a bing search icon at the bottom right and I always hit the stupid thing at a horrible time.
Doesn't charge very fast on my PC, but does well on the pad or wall socket
Gets a bit warm on long sessions (my sons plays the games for like 2 hours nonstop lol)

Yeah I hit the bing icon allllllllllllll the time. I'm looking for a case that will prevent this. My android phone never charged quickly on my PC so it wasn't an issue for me though.

Some of the UI is unclear and the only way for you to figure things out is to go online. I find out something new everyday! It's a bit steeper than Android/IOS and once I figure out how to workaround some of the UI issues I have I'll be very happy with the phone.

Also, not a fan of charger or speaker placement.

Alright guys, I think I nailed it down to the 928 as opposed to the 920. I wouldn't be able to upgrade to the 920 till January 14, I can upgrade now to the 928...

Do you guys generally trust amazon for buying your phone? I wonder if I will have any issues getting it from there...
http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-Lumia-928-Verizon-Wireless/dp/B00CQAODG4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372327933&sr=8-1&keywords=lumia+928

At Verizon its $100 with a "accessory" bundle, amazon its $30. Not sure what it all includes at amazon tho, cant find the specs for what it includes, maybe its JUST the phone? What do you guys recommend?

I'm swapping out one of my phones on the family plan that is eligible for an upgrade to my phone so I can upgrade it. My phone isn't up till January but I still can switch upgrades from 1 line to another.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thumb.gif

The only way the 920 is better than the 928 is that you can get different colors. The 928 has a better camera, lighter, better screen,

Yeah I got my phone unlocked from Amazon. The accessory bundles are usually a ripoff/low quality /cheapest components

They changed the flash, not the camera from what I've read. But most reviews I've seen gave it less rating than the 920, and a much better rating for the 925.
Woah, the 928 looks horrible compared to the 920. Plus you can't use the flash as a flashlight.. Unless you want a strobe.

Coming from a Lumia 800 user.
