I have been throwing the idea around to pickup a Kaveri APU and MB just to play around with and wonder which MB to get with it.

How important is power phase with Kaveri?

Do you need 8+2 phase or will 4+2 work just as well when OCing this chip?

The first post in this thread shows 2 MB's with 8+2 phase VRM's are those the only 2?

Thanks

I would speculate that you could get a decent OC with the 4+2 phase, however, like everything else, it is best to overbuild, especially when you are talking power delivery, and stability. Proof is the fact that a reviewer got a healthy OC with the A88X Sniper, which is 4+2. So it is possible.

Ohh, and only the ASRock Extreme 6+ is 8+2, the Gigabyte UP4 and the ASUS Pro are 6+2.

I was looking at that new MSI G45 Gaming MB, but come to find out it's a 4+2 Phase MB. Would like to hear from user's with it and see what they could get out of it.

Thanks

Fortunately Kaveri is pretty energy efficient, so I think gone the days where we need high phases to handle AMD chips. I believe the quality of the phase are more important now smile.gif

Ok two questions for the rest of you FM2 guys. My current mobo(check my sig) as issues where it randomly powers off(about once-twice per day, get lucky sometimes though) and it simply can't hold a stable overclock for the life of it, so I'm gonna swap it out. Its my third Gigabyte mobo i've had problems with, so im definitely done with them. If I got another FM2+ mobo, what non Gigabyte mobo would you guys go for? And would you guys even consider an upgrade to the 7850k if you are using a 7950?

Edit: Looking at getting a A88XM Gaming and a prodigy, can't find it anywhere though, or a release date:o

why does this happen to me? 91-95% memory usage (8GB total) even though basically nothing should be using it. Mouse starts lagging occasionally when this happens. I have asrock killer board, 7850k+270X

When I start F-Stream after that has happened I get this:

Hello again, guys,

So, I am tired of waiting for MSI A88XM Gaming, this is ridiculous mad.gif, how long is taking to have that motherboard in market.
Yes, I saw A88X-G45 in selling in very few shops, but no word about mATX form.
But, I was more than 3,5 years in notebooks' field, so yeah, maybe this is normal...

I am looking forward to hear your opinions about this combination:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A88M%20Extreme4+/ AND http://www.radeonmemory.com/gamer_series_R9.php

I see that motherboard supports 2400 Mhz after OC, so do you think I can manage it by using AMP ?
Should I be prepared for any other kind of overclocking ? (had never do this before)
I see on Radeon's site that this exact MB is not listed as supported, so I am curious about functionality.

Do you think, there will be any problems with BIOS in this days ? I heard pretty bad things about Gigabyte about that...

Thank you.
