I believe different board partners call it by different names, but what I am referring to is the ability to quickly boot into Windows 8 / 8.1 provided you have UEFI GOP compatible video card(s) and are running said OS in GPT. I currently own an ASRock and am very pleased by this option. The problem is, it is an intel board and for my next build I would very much like it to be AMD.

As for fan control; it is my understanding that Asus has a feature called "Fan Xpert 2" which allows non PWM fans to be controlled within the UEFI environment as well as on the desktop via a software download. Do any other AMD board partners have a similar feature? In a perfect world I would snatch up another ASRock (due to familiarity) but I would only do so if they released a Fatal1ty mATX board... which sadly does not look like it will be the case this time around. After all, they have made 4 Fatal1ty Z87 boards - none of which are mATX.

Awww man! I got my hopes up... only to be let down by the ATX form factor. If I were the crying type I would be in tears right about now.

Such is life. At least MSI has that nice looking GAMING mATX in the works. No mention of a release date though. Isn't the NDA on Kaveri due to expire any minute now? For that matter arent they supposed to be put up for sale in a few hours? I get the feeling like I will end up with the Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H because waiting is a harsh mistress. biggrin.gif

I'd say UP4 has the superior solution. You still get the 6+2 phase IR3550 power design which most other Gigabyte boards don't use anymore.

I've heard from a few users that the Asrock's VRM's can get very hot under load. Either due to poor VRM design or just insufficient heat sink mass.

No first hand experience because I wanna see how the MSI Gamer is before I buy BUT from what I have read I'd go with the UP over the Asrock. Also hoping a ROG comes out haha

Thank you. It was between those two boards. I just need a board that can handle pushing the chip as high as I can

The ASUS A88X PRO seems like a no brainer IMO if your looking at OC'ing.VRM heatsinks look way better than gig or asrocks as well as AI suite.Put that Kaveri under water and
it's off to the races.Unless of course Asus comes out with a ROG board for FM2+.
