UK import TAX

No Idea where to post this...

Can anyone tell me what the import tax is in the UK, I want to order some parts for Performance PCs in the US and the shipping is 60 dollars but that does not include tax, even a rough figure would be really helpful, thanks

If the item cost is over £15 then typically it's 20% of the item cost for Import VAT. However you'll also pay a fee to the shipper for them to process the paperwork which typically is around £12 but it can vary starting at £10.

Under £15 then there's no additional charges at all.

Edit: PPCs charge a lot for postage on items over a certain value as they've apparently been ripped off numerous times by UK residents claiming the goods never arrived so they charge extra to include insurance. Quite often you'll find that FrozenCPU or Jab-Tech will supply the same item(s) with cheaper postage.

We pay a Flat rate of £15.00 to TNT then 20% however some companies we found have been charging no flat rate plus 25%. Ive ordered from PPCs a few times i actually don't find there shipping to expensive in comparison and they "do" deliver fairly quickly. We get ripped off in the UK for taxes.

Hmm their cheapest shipping option for two water blocks and 10 fittings was 60 dollars, I would then have to pay 20% extra when it arrive in the UK which is another 60dollars, which is a PITA, I wish more places in the UK sold Bitspower stuff! And at reasonable prices!
