Haswell OC'ing Max Temp Limits?

This would be a 24/7 overclock. I'm wondering what the max acceptable temps are that won't hurt the CPU's lifetime MAJORLY, and also, how high would safe voltages be? Thanks!

Max temperatures are generally within the same area for CPUs, although the exact values do vary depending on the lithography of chips and the required voltages. Usually, smaller lithography chips do not need as much voltage as say older larger lithography chips. As a rule of thumb I normally aim (and so do most people) to keep their temperatures below a maximum of 80c, but ideally you would be wanting to find a voltage where the CPU was stable and did not go above 70c under load for 24/7 use.

actually when haswell hits 90c-100c it automatically downclocks or thermal throttles i have seen them downclock from 4ghz all the way down to 1.2ghz when thermal throttling which will meen you will barely ever see your overclocks potential for anything.

Mine goes up to 95c and never throttles. This is during prime95. Using HWinfo64 and never seen the minclock change. The chip likes 95c no matter what air cooler I used.
Using noctua NH-D14. Room temp 72F, if I take the room temp down to 68. I can get the chip down to 93c. Running at 4400mhz 1.268v, 2100mhz ram

the thing of it is alot of software have issues reading the haswell when it downclocks due to thermal throttling because it does so so fast and fluidly without average person seeing it but yes at 95c i bet it is downclocking mine would thermal throttle at 95c try using aida64 vs prime95 aida64 has a better support for the haswell architecture and will actually produce higher temps than prime95 because it can utilize the haswell more efficiently making it the better testing program for this.

I cant seem to remember the software i used to monitor the haswell for thermal throttling at this moment i am sure i have it on my dedicated server on the 10tb storage i have lol i know it is on my monitoring / benchmarking software folder i will look later on today and also look through my notepad recordings i use to record all my testing methods / results .

I've tried aida64, and it never made the chip that hot. Not sure what I was doing wrong, I ran the benchmark test. Temps just never got that high with it.
NP i have just found that they made a update to prime95 to make it compatable with haswell early release it wasnt completely compatable and had issues fully utilizing haswell architecture and had unusual swings in load / temps in otherwards wasnt a true 100% heavy load.

be aware the haswell is a tricky SOB to watch temps / throttling and also a headache to get a stable overclock on with good temps and also a good performance increase it is like fighting rolling a bolder up hill it will eventually get there but is the fight worth it over a overclocked IVY or Sandy in my eyes no you can nearly get same performance from sandy or IVY with a good overclock for alot cheaper and with alot less headache.
