What's the best mid size case?

Thread Starter
I'm looking to upgrade my Ultra Aluminus case.

Yes, I have a dinosaur.

My greatest shame...

Anyhow, I know absolutely nothing about cases so whats the best mid size for around $200 or less? It can be plastic, metal, etc and I'm not watercooling or LN2ing.

Also, what would make it better than my current Aluminus?

Thank you. smile.gif

I love my CM HAF XB, though I'm not sure that's what your looking for. It's very portable but has an acquired taste. The Lian Li A05 inverted is also a slick setup.

Is the Fractal R4 a good choice?

The Define R4 is a very nice case. It weighs a metric ton due to all the steel and noise-dampening material, but the interior components are all very high-quality as well. Their Arc Midi line is also worth looking at.

I have an R4 and I love it, it isn't designed for watercooling but if you aren't interested in that it's great. I have an H80 and it fits fine, you can fit the H100 in the front too. And it will fit pretty much any air cooler or GPU. It's quiet even with all the vents open. The quality is great, my only complaint is the door opens to the left instead of the right..it just feels backwards since the case sits to my right, and the window is on the left so it would make sense to put the case on your right. If that makes sense tongue.gif

Oh great! My one concern is with the foam itself.

Will that cause any increase in temps?
The foam not so much, but the silence orientated aspect of the case means the airflow in and out might not be as desirable as some of the air-cooling orientated cases that ignore silence e.g. the HAF series.

I personally just bought this biggrin.gif

It looks to have the height of a mid-tower, but wider so you have more room to work with in regards to cable management and putting the PSU in the right chamber.
