[IGN] Microsoft details on Xbox one used games and always online - Page 18

-24 hour DRM. (Console checks in once every 24 hours online)
-1 hour DRM if not using home console.
-Mandatory Kinect.
-No renting, no loaning. No private sales (unless selling to someone who has been on your friends list for 30 days)
-Internet connection required.
-Trade-ins are up to the publisher and only at "participating" retailers.
+You can give a game to a friend only if they have been on your friends list for 30 days, and then only ONCE.
+Up to 10 family members can play your games from any console at any time? You & one other at a time.

i cant believe how bad MS is shooting themselves in the foot. The internet is flooded right now with hate. I know my money will not be going on an XBone.

From that article: "Saying no to games is hard."

No, it is not that hard actually.

There are so many opportunities to game on so many platforms that if you refuse to buy one, you'll find something else to play soon enough.

It's incredibly stupid. With this and the blunder that was windows 8, MS really need some restructuring.

Sorry about that but that's an issue you can resolve in the next 7 years.

was broadband requirement for Xbox Gold in 2003 greed?

at least the xbox gold was an option and not a requirement.

I'm sorry if I have missed something, but I haven't seen anything that suggests live gold will be required, yes an internet connection is required but you can run with live silver if you want.

If MS requires you to have live gold then they better drop the price of either live or the console to near zero and they are effectively tying you to a paid contract.

“With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies."

Are you deployed? Yea, you wont be playing on the xbox one. Thanks microsoft for remembering those overseas who play on your systems. NOT ANYMORE!
