That's what I'm concerned with ^ hash rate to power consumed. Surprisingly enough, my 5830 is my most efficient card.. 297MHs at about 130watts (killawatt wall reading). I don't exactly trust everything I read in the master bitcoin mining hardware table.

I was told a 7790 can do 350 mh/s at 90 watts Vs a 7950 doing 600 mh/s at 300 watts the 7790 wins out.

My 7970 is clocked at 1200mhz with 1.2v and is doing 680-700 Mhps. Kill-a-watt reads 550 watts.

If you're worried about that, then why not look at the ASIC route instead?

Is that for the GPU or the rig total? I measure my GPUs by letting the rig sit idle for about 20 minutes and then subtracting this value from what I get when the card has been mining for 20 minutes.

There are ASICs out, but if you look, people are charging quite a bit over what the manufacturers want in nearly every case. The BFL singles that are out that only mine at ~880MHs at best cost nearly 1000 or more USD/ 8-10 btc. The USB ASICs (which I bought into) cost ~2btc a piece and only produce 330mhs at best. If I had the BTC already, I would grab one. But they dont seem like a good deal to me right now used. Definitely not a good deal to buy a new order, difficulty will be a billion before you get a new order probably..

You'll get best hashrate/J with the 7790 as it is based of a improved version of GCN 1.0

That's how the world economy works... We spend tons of finite energy and resources and get virtual dollars, euros, etc. in our bank accounts, which are founded on 'the promise of future growth' (aka. debt/loans). At least Bitcoin is finite, and based on real, measurable work.

7790 probably beats all others except maybe 5970/6990/7990, just make sure to UC the memory for power savings even if you OC the core. Also do some calculation on one of those online bitcoin profitability calculators. I stopped mining a long time ago, here in Austria electricity is ~25c/kWh (Euro) or ~$33/kWh mad.gif. Not even remotely worth it.
